Test it before a customer ever hears it

Coach the change, then be the first person who hears it — on a real call, from your own phone.

A coaching change can read well in chat and still sound awkward on the phone. Make the change in your Tradesly test account, rehearse it there, and call yourself before it is copied to the live account. You will hear the voice, timing, business facts, and next step without using an unreviewed setup for customer calls.

Any customer can request a test account. Keep the review centered on what the customer would hear, and contact Tradesly after your team has approved the result for live use.

1 Decide what you are listening for

Give the call one clear purpose. If you changed the way price questions are handled, start with a price question. If you changed the greeting, listen to the greeting before you test anything else.

Write down the expected result in one sentence. For example:

“Explain that we price after an assessment, then offer to book the estimate.”

That gives you a useful finish line. You are not trying to prove that every possible call is perfect; you are checking the behavior you just changed.

2 The steps

1

Confirm you are in the test account.

Check the account or company name before you change anything. Ask Tradesly for a test account if one is not available.

2

Define one result.

Write down the customer situation and the response your business expects before starting the call.

3

Prepare the teammate.

Open Your AI Team, choose the teammate, and confirm that you are testing the intended customer-facing behavior.

4

Start your test call.

For the Sales Caller, open Test Call, enter your own Number to call, add the relevant details, and press Call this number. For the Receptionist or Callback Pro, use Call in the coaching header, or use Copy and dial the AI line from your phone.

5

Clean up after the call.

If the test created an appointment you do not want, open the Board and use Cancel appointment….

6

Record the result.

Note the customer situation, what your team heard, and whether it was approved. Contact Tradesly for the next live-account step.

3 A test call is a real call

Use your own contact information. A test call can create a real booking or send a real text. If you are testing the Sales Caller, the Details it will mention panel shows the information available for that call; use Edit in Setup if those details need attention before you dial.

Do not use a customer's phone number for a practice call. If you need several rounds, call yourself each time and remove any test records you do not need.

4 Test more than the exact wording

Once the main instruction works, listen to the sentence before it and the next step after it. A correct price boundary can still feel unhelpful if the teammate never offers an estimate. A friendly greeting can still fail if it uses the wrong business name.

When you hear a problem, record the exact example for your next review:

“When I asked for a ballpark price, the answer repeated the policy but did not offer to book an estimate. Please offer the estimate as the next step.”

Use a short, focused check rather than one long conversation. It is easier for another reviewer to understand what was approved when the expected result and the observed customer experience are both written down.
