Available, Busy, Break — your status
Tell Tradesly when you can take calls, and when it should cover for you.
“Who's got the phones?” In most shops that's a group text, a whiteboard, or a guess. Somebody steps out for lunch, nobody adjusts, and for forty minutes the plan doesn't match the building.
In Tradesly it's one picker in the header: Available, Busy, or Break. That's you telling Tradesly when you can take calls — and when the AI should cover for you.
1 What each one says
- Available — you can take calls. You're at a screen, and stepping into a conversation is on the table.
- Busy — you're here, but occupied. Mid-estimate, on another line, heads-down — don't count on you right now.
- Break — you're away. Lunch, a site visit, the end of your day. The AI covers until you're back.
The words mean what they say. Pick the honest one and get on with your day.
2 The AI answers either way
Your status never decides whether the phone gets answered. The AI picks up first, every time, whatever anyone's status says — a whole team at lunch doesn't send a caller to voicemail. Status is about the human half of the operation: whether you are someone a call can reach right now, or whether the AI should carry it without waiting on you.
3 The steps
Open the status picker in the header.
It sits at the top of every screen and shows what you're set to right now.
Pick the honest one.
Available if you're at a screen and a call can reach you, Busy if you're here but occupied, Break if you've stepped away.
Change it as your day changes.
Walking out for lunch, Break; back at the desk, Available. One click, no announcement, no whiteboard.
Step in while you're Available.
From a live row in your Office, Take Over puts you on the call — and whatever your status says, Live Transfer can still reach a phone in the field.
4 Make it a reflex
The picker only works if it's true, and it takes one click to keep it true:
- Sitting down with your coffee, ready for the day — Available.
- Starting an estimate you don't want interrupted — Busy.
- Walking out for lunch — Break. Walking back in — Available.
Nobody announces anything, nothing gets written on a whiteboard, and the plan always matches the building.
5 Status and stepping in
Your status works alongside everything else in the Office. When you're Available and watching a live call, you're one click from joining it — Taking over from the AI covers that. And whatever anyone's status says, a caller who needs a person can still reach one: Live Transfer dials a phone, not a screen, so the owner under a sink is reachable even when nobody's Available at a desk.
