The paid lead gap

The lead arrived. The follow-up can’t stop there.

Pay-per-lead networks and ad platforms create opportunities. They don’t ensure every new inquiry connects with the right person or reaches a booking.

  • Lead timing isn’t always convenient.

Inquiries arrive while your team is driving, on calls, or managing the schedule.

  • One attempt often isn’t a conversation.

A missed connection may need a different time, channel, or reason to respond.

  • A contact isn’t necessarily a booking.

Qualify the work and create a clear handoff or appointment.

What to measure

Know what your paid leads actually produce.

Compare your current booking rate with the target you want to reach. See the potential revenue change and acquisition cost per booking from the same paid leads and budget.

Your monthly numbers

Use one consistent group of paid leads.

Average realized revenue, before costs.

Share of paid leads that book today.

The goal you want to compare.

The spend that generated the same paid leads entered above.

How this is calculated

Extra bookings = monthly paid leads × (target booking rate − current booking rate).

Revenue change = extra bookings × average revenue per booking.

Acquisition cost per booking = acquisition spend ÷ bookings. The percentage reduction compares target cost with current cost, keeping spend unchanged.

Revenue per $1 spent = bookings × average revenue per booking ÷ acquisition spend.

Use a revenue average that accounts for cancellations and bookings that do not become paid work. Rates are converted from percentages.

Cost per booking is not full customer acquisition cost (CAC). Efficiency improvements are not added to the revenue estimate, and follow-up and service costs are excluded.

How Tradesly works your paid leads

Not a blast. A conversation with a next step.

A lead may answer right away, go quiet, or need a person. The follow-up should change with the response.

Where paid leads come from

Different lead sources. One accountable follow-up plan.

Keep context from the channel that brought the customer to you. Then use the right conversation to move toward the next job.

Lead marketplaces

Work purchased homeowner inquiries with the service request, coverage area, and relevant source details. Leads may be shared or exclusive depending on the provider; your follow-up follows the appropriate ownership rules.

Google Local Services Ads

Tradesly supports Google LSA integration. Align follow-up with the lead type and the actions available from that source.

Paid form and campaign leads

Bring lead context from approved ad or website inquiry flows into the follow-up plan.

Paid leads that went quiet

Pick up conversations that didn’t reach a booking, using the permitted campaign rules and customer history.

Lead delivery and booking connections vary by provider. Tradesly configures follow-up and ownership rules for the lead type you receive, and maps supported connections before launch.

Human + AI

AI handles the routine. People handle the moments that matter.

Routine engagement and qualification can run through AI-assisted workflows. When a customer needs nuance, urgency, or reassurance, the conversation can move to a trained person or your team with context.

  • Keep the history together.

Make the lead source, need, and prior messages useful at handoff.

  • Escalate on your rules.

Urgency, complex questions, high-value inquiries, and requests for a person.

  • Improve the next outreach.

Review what connected, what stalled, and where people helped.

Managed human coverage varies by package. Your internal team can be the handoff destination where configured.

Built-in campaign safeguards

Follow up with the right rules.

Tradesly includes compliance controls in its outbound workflows, so outreach can follow your approved permissions, timing, and suppression rules.

The business and lead provider are still responsible for having appropriate consent and lawful authority for each channel. Controls support compliant operations; they do not guarantee legal compliance in every circumstance.

  • Consent-aware contact rules
  • Opt-outs and suppression
  • Approved contact hours
  • Duplicate-outreach controls

Beyond lead delivery

What is paid lead follow-up?

Paid lead follow-up means contacting and nurturing inquiries acquired through paid lead providers or advertising campaigns, qualifying the customer’s needs, and moving each inquiry toward an appointment or handoff. Pay per lead (PPL) is one way to acquire these inquiries; others come from paid ads or forms. The value is in what happens after a lead arrives, not just the first contact attempt.

The source provides

A homeowner inquiry, lead details, and a contact opportunity. Exclusivity and data vary by provider.

Configured outreach, qualification, human handoff, and a booking path within your systems.

Frequently asked questions

Better answers. Better follow-up.

Paid lead sources and campaigns aren’t identical. We’ll configure the right rules for yours.

Does Tradesly sell pay-per-lead (PPL) leads?

No. This solution helps you follow up with leads you acquire from approved marketplaces, advertising programs, or other permitted sources. Tradesly focuses on engagement, qualification, and booking.

How is this different from speed-to-lead automation?

Speed to lead measures how quickly a fresh inquiry receives an initial response. Paid lead follow-up covers the broader process after purchased leads arrive: contact attempts, channel changes, qualification, human handoff, and booking outcomes. Explore speed to lead.

Can Tradesly handle leads from Google Local Services Ads?

Yes. Tradesly supports Google LSA integration. The specific lead types, authorized actions, and follow-up workflow are mapped during setup so the campaign aligns with what your connection supports.

What happens when a purchased lead doesn’t respond?

The workflow can make additional permitted contact attempts or change channels based on your approved cadence, customer context, and stop conditions. A customer reply, opt-out, or human takeover changes what happens next.

Does Tradesly use calls, texts, and email?

Yes. Tradesly has outbound capabilities across AI-assisted calls, SMS, and email. Available channel mix, usage limits, and human support depend on the agreed package and campaign configuration. Explore Tradesly Outbound.

Can Tradesly qualify leads and book appointments?

Tradesly can qualify inquiries and move eligible leads toward booking or a qualified handoff. Exact scheduling actions depend on your business rules and connected system.

How does compliance work for purchased leads?

Built-in safeguards support consent rules, contact windows, opt-outs, suppression, and duplicate-outreach controls. You and your providers must still verify that you have the permissions required for each campaign and outreach channel.

Do trained people help with follow-up?

People can review and improve campaigns or handle complex conversations and handoffs. Managed human coverage is offered according to package scope; your own team can also receive qualified handoffs where configured.

How is paid-lead follow-up priced?

Outbound workflows are available, with package-specific allowances rather than unlimited usage. Ask about outbound packages for your sources, channels, volume, and human coverage.
